Carers Gateway North Ayrshire provides information support and advice to unpaid carers across the North Ayrshire area.
We aim to ensure all carers of all ages are identified and give them awareness and access to the support available for their caring role.
Are You A Carer?
You are an unpaid carer if you provide unpaid support and care for someone who has an illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction, and cannot cope without your help.
If that sounds like you, we’re here for you. Find links to general carer information below based on your age. We also have a new self help service which will provide personalised support based on your situation and interests.

Our website includes a self help service to help carers of all ages. It’s designed to provide personalised support and information to help you care for your loved ones and yourself. Here’s what it offers:
- Personalised Support: Select the topics that affect you and we instantly build you a custom support plan with advice, health tips, and information about local events and services.
- Stay Connected: We’ll keep in touch through email and text, offering more help where you need it. We’ll also check in regularly to see how you’re doing and offer extra support when necessary.
You can access everything anytime, day or night, and if you choose to register, you can save your plan and pick up where you left off next time.
There is no charge for using the service.
